Army halts use of new first aid item to study more – Yahoo! News.

The Army is using two new methods to stop bleeding from areas that tourniquets cannot be applied. They both use some kinds of chemicals to stop the bleeding. But the second one, which is only applied as a last resort, may cause some complication, possibly causing damage while it stops blood loss.

The Korean cellphone company LG is now selling a cellphone that can read the blood sugar levels. That way, the phone can send the reading from diabetics to a database, automating the process.
