It might seem like someone who is unable to see can’t walk down a hallway without bumping into things in it. But for someone with blindness due to damage in the primary visual cortex, it appears that it is possible for someone to have “blind sight”. That means they can actually avoid obstacles that are placed in their path, though they can’t see them.
